Don't Just Trust a SIRA Report. Trust the Science Behind It.

Independently evaluated leak detection. Proven statistical performance.
FuelSync's statistical leak-detection engine has been independently evaluated by Ken Wilcox Associates under the US EPA's recognised SIR testing protocol. With exceptional demonstrated detection performance and three independently evaluated monitoring profiles, FuelSync gives fuel retailers confidence in the technology behind their SIRA reporting.

A SIRA Report Is Not Proof of Leak-Detection Performance.

Reconciliation is only part of the picture. A system may calculate daily fuel variances and produce professional-looking reports without demonstrating that its statistical method can reliably detect small leaks.
Can it detect a leak at the required rate? How accurately does it distinguish genuine losses from normal inventory variations? How often does it generate false alarms? Has its performance been independently tested?
Without independently verified performance, customers may have limited evidence of their monitoring method's detection capability. Missed leaks can lead to environmental damage, product losses and delayed investigations. Unnecessary alarms can waste time and money. Weak monitoring evidence can create problems during compliance reviews.
When the consequences matter, the performance behind the report matters too. A SIRA claim is easy to make. Demonstrating independently evaluated leak-detection performance is a different standard of evidence. FuelSync has that evidence.

Independent Verification. Measurable Confidence.

FuelSync's statistical leak-detection engine was independently evaluated by Ken Wilcox Associates in January 2026 using the US EPA's recognised May 2019 SIR testing protocol.
The evaluation used prepared datasets containing simulated leaks. FuelSync analysed the data without knowing the leak conditions, and KWA assessed the accuracy of its results.

Independent results

Performance That Speaks for Itself.

Enhanced Sensitivity
FS-SIR-TT-005
Evaluated leak rate: 0.10 gal/hour
Probability of detection: 99.33%
Probability of false alarm: 3.03%
Designed for more sensitive monthly statistical monitoring. Not an annual tank-tightness test.
Precision Monthly Monitoring
FS-SIR-MM-010
Evaluated leak rate: 0.20 gal/hour
Probability of detection: >99.99%
Probability of false alarm: <0.01%
A powerful monthly monitoring configuration combining exceptional detection probability with a very low estimated false-alarm probability.
Alternative Monthly Monitoring
FS-SIR-MM-016
Evaluated leak rate: 0.20 gal/hour
Probability of detection: 98.05%
Probability of false alarm: <0.01%
An independently evaluated alternative operating configuration with a 0.16 gal/hour threshold. Regulatory suitability depends on the applicable jurisdiction.
Performance figures relate to the specific configurations and test conditions documented in the January 2026 independent evaluation. Site-specific regulatory requirements and operating limitations apply.
Customer confidence

Better Evidence. Better Decisions. Greater Confidence.

Confidence in detection
Choose a statistical method whose performance has been independently tested under a recognised protocol.
Fewer unnecessary investigations
FS-SIR-MM-010 demonstrated a very low estimated false-alarm probability under the evaluation conditions, supporting confidence in monitoring decisions.
Stronger compliance evidence
Support monitoring decisions with third-party results, a documented methodology and clear operating limits.
Flexibility across your network
Three independently evaluated configurations help align monitoring priorities with site needs and applicable requirements.
Evaluated operating scope

Frequently asked questions

Your Questions, Answered.

What is the difference between wet-stock reconciliation and independently evaluated SIRA?
Reconciliation calculates stock movements and variances. Independent SIRA evaluation tests whether the statistical method can detect defined leaks and distinguish them from normal variation, with measured detection and false-alarm probabilities.
Who independently evaluated FuelSync?
Ken Wilcox Associates evaluated FuelSync's statistical leak-detection engine using the US EPA's May 2019 SIR testing protocol. The evaluation was completed on 27 January 2026.
What detection performance did FuelSync demonstrate?
FS-SIR-MM-010 demonstrated >99.99% probability of detection and <0.01% probability of false alarm at the evaluated 0.20 gal/hour leak rate. The three profile cards above show configuration-specific results.
Can customers select different monitoring profiles?
Yes. FuelSync provides three independently evaluated configurations. The appropriate profile depends on monitoring priorities, the documented operating limits and applicable jurisdictional requirements.
